Western Australia Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL)
On June 21st 2017 the new Western Australia Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL) was released.
The Western Australia Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL) used to carry 178 occupations, this was changed in Labours first day of government in March 2017. The 18 occupations now left on the list are mainly in the health sector where there is a genuine need, these include midwives, psychiatrists and several classes of registered nurses.
Out of these 18 occupations, only 10 will be offered for the subclass 190 visa (permanent). The remainder will be offered for the Provisional Visa 489 which requires the visa holder to be a temporary resident before fulfilling the 2 years with the sponsoring state, upon which they can apply for residency.
You must have an occupation on WASMOL and have relevant Australian or overseas work experience to be invited to apply for state nomination. All applicants are required to provide evidence of a minimum one year full-time employment contract for all occupations on the WASMOL.
