MORE OCCUPATIONS ADDED TO THE PRIORITY MIGRATION SKILLED OCCUPATION LIST (PMSOL)

The Department of Home Affairs has announced that additional occupations will be added to the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL), meaning that employer sponsored nominations and visa applications with an occupation on the PMSOL will be given priority.

The PMSOL was developed to ensure critical skilled occupations will continue to be filled through the COVID-19 crisis. As of 22 June 2021, 22 new occupations have been added to the list making more migrant workers eligible to have their visas prioritised for processing.  The list now consists of a total 41 occupations and will hopefully attract the required critical workers into the country.

Chefs, electrical engineers, and accountants are among the skilled occupations added to the PMSOL that will have their visa applications prioritised by the Australian government.

The 22 new occupations are:

  • Accountant (General)
