Australia’s borders to open on 15 December 2021 as planned

Australia is set to reopen its borders as planned on Wednesday 15 December to eligible visa holders, including international students, skilled migrants, humanitarian, working holiday makers and provisional family visa holders. The easing of restrictions means that fully vaccinated eligible visa holders will no longer be required to secure an exemption to travel into the country.

Australia’s reopening would also be applicable to fully vaccinated international students, eligible visa holders and tourists from Japan, Singapore and South Korea, thanks to travel bubble arrangements with those nations.

All arrivals to Australia will require a negative PCR test, and must also complete Australian traveller declaration forms detailing their vaccination status and confirming requirements, to comply with state and territory public health requirements.
